Long Live Direct Mail

Today I printed and stuffed 150 envelopes with handwritten addresses.

They’re going to a targeted audience, primed and in need for exactly what I have available.

I’m sending them a 1-page sales letter with a killer offer.

The whole 9 yards.

It’s been 65 degrees and sunny here in the Las Vegas Valley, so I jumped on my longboard for a quick cruise to the mailbox.

I crammed all the letters into the outgoing mail slot, and then rolled back home.

This has become a sort of ritual for me. And I get to improve my handwriting as an added perk.

I do this because direct mail will never die, and I know it.

While Facebook is stalking people with ads, being intrusive and sketchy, there’s always a good time to show up in peoples hands, in physical form – and when they least expect it…

Especially if you have an offer that’s in alignment with the recipient’s needs.

If you’re struggling to get attention these days, it’s probably because you’re playing jazz in a tunnel full of rock bands.

It might be time to change your tune.

It might be time to try something new.

Maybe that means gathering a targeted list for a direct mail campaign.

But – before you go ordering a thousand envelopes……make sure your offer is in perfect alignment with what the audience needs.

And don’t go blasting out some hum-drum letter, either.

You need to HOOK their attention.

You need to make a connection with the reader.

And you can’t let them toss your letter or put it aside without first taking action.

It’s time to build a steady flow of people coming into your funnel.
